Shoden 

   初伝

 At Shoden Level students learn the basic Receiving-body (Breakfalls) skills (Ukemi), throws, punches, locks (armlocks), chockes (strangles).  Students also develop the basic skills and knowledge of upsetting the enemy’s balance (Kuzushi), of evading and maneuvering (Kavashi) and operating the enemy using his energy and weight. Students learn to use Principles of Sen and Sen No Sen. Demonstration of attacking initiative and leading the enemy.

Level Shoden corresponds with 1'st Dan

 

Сhuden

AtСhudenLevel students learn the ways of implementing basic techniques (skills) against attacking enemy during real fight

or sparring (randori). Also students are trained to combine basic techniques, how to do pressures on weak points and zones of human body.  Students learn to use Principles of Go No Sen (interception of initiative).

Level Shuden corresponds with 2-3'st Dan

 

Okuden

奥伝

AtOkuden Level students learn ways of using basic techniques for the counter-attack.  At this level students get trained to use Principles of Tai

 No Sen - simultaneous counter-attack and Principles of joining the movement of enemy.

Level Okuden corresponds with 4- 5'st Dan
